Help for the com.au Domain Name Application Form

1. Application Information
Domain Name The com.au domain name you want to apply for. NB com.au domain names are allocated according to the current com.au Domain Name Allocation Policy.
2.1 Business Name Details
Business Name The Registered Business Name. Business Names are registered on a state-by-state basis, coming under the jurisdiction of the Business Names Act in that state. Business names are allocated and administered by the various state bodies.
State The state (or territory) where the business name is registered

RBN The Registered Business Number of the Registered Business Name. Special note to Qld residents: The "BN" is an integral part of the RBN, and must be included in the application.
Proprietor The legal status of the proprietor of the business. The choices are:
  1. "Sole Trader" for a single person operating a business
  2. "Partnership" for two or more persons (or organisations) in business together
  3. "Company" where the business name is owned by a company

    This occurs where a company is trading as a name other than the company name (i.e. a "trading name"). You should complete section 2.1, selecting "Company" as the proprietor, and also provide the company details (below).
2.2 Company Details
Company Name The name of the company. Please make sure that it is the name of the company, and not a trading name (see above).
ACN The Australian Company Number. This is a nine digit number allocated to companies registered with the Australian Securities Commission. This field can also be used for Australian Registered Body Numbers (ARBN) which are allocated to such bodies as foreign companies registered to trade in Australia.
3. Postal Address Information
Street Address The first part of the postal address for the organisation listed in section 2.
Suburb/City The suburb and city part of the postal address.
State and Post Code The State (or Territory) in Australia, and the post code. You can check post codes at the Australia Post web site.
4. Administrative Contact
Client details Please ensure that the admin contact is from one of the organisations listed in section 2 (above). The admin contact must not be the Internet Service Provider or any other agent of the organisations listed.
5. Other "com.au" Names
Other com.au Names If the listed organisation already has other com.au domain names, you must choose "Yes".
List Other Names If the listed organisation does have other com.au domain names, list them here.
